The Ingebright's began to have an annual office party with the Seattle
Postal Inspection Service just about immediately after purchasing the
Valhalla homestead. . These began as minor affairs and with each year got
crazier and crazier with a frozen fish head being a perpetual trophy that
had to be kept frozen all year and brought back the next year! Another
funny prize was a "Door Prize that was indeed a car door off of a
12952 Dodge that Earl and Fred Lombard had converted to a pickup truck for
service around the Valhalla property. Games included and "egg
toss" with one egg in the box being hard boiled. Another memorable
was a "treasure hunt" game that took teams of two
allover the property following clues to the buried treasure. At one
clam bake, Injun Fred Lombard conjured up a fountain of water right out of
the embers of the cook fire. Everyone was amazed when he took his
forked water witch stick and commanded water to burst forth from the
glowing embers. Little did people know that a water hose had been buried
the summer before and connected to a pump fire extinguisher! These Clajm
Bakes continued until 1969 when Earl was transferred to the San Francisco
Region.
In 1976, Earl and Laurine began again with several events
a year involving the picnic area and cooking a salmon or two. The largest
event was a salmon BBQ on the 4th of July Check the
