Some Wisdom about using
the cabin off-grid
battery power

Electricity is precious
when all you have are batteries to make your nighttimes comfortable. |
|
|
After dark you are
completely on battery power. That means that you should not have any lights on or the radio or BT stereo or USB outlet switched on that you do not need. Use the individual accent lighting to add ambiance to the room. This is an awareness item only due to not everyone knows the battery power can be limited and we want you to have an enjoyable stay. |

We have designed the
system so that there should be sufficient power for a
comfortable stay even on dark winter days. Use the
battery power indicator to monitor
the batteries. It should indicate between 10 and 14 volts. |

How it works: Two
rooftop 100 Watt solar panels charge
two car batteries from normal daylight and (even better!) sunlight
during the day, A computerized "solar controller" ensures the
batteries are charged properly. Direct sun is best, but on dark
winter days, the batteries may not completely charge. |
